I have just been to NK. Our main guide and the bus driver had cell phones. The network was only for internal use, not for calls abroad. Tourists get their phones sealed and are are not allowed to break the seal until they are outside NK.

    I doubt most North …
I doubt most North Koreans will be seeing phones anytime soon. It’s not necessarily a matter of money, although North Korea are certainly pretty short on that.

The main reason is that the masses aren’t considered politically reliable enough to be trusted with one. Phones have always been prohibited without government permission.

Those who get one are party officials and political elites who’ve ingratiated themselves with the regime.

Propaganda at DPRK’s finest. A full on network built for 1% of their people. What was the Egyptian company thinking to invest in such a little ROI.

i agree with you at …
i agree with you at some points. but their leader seems to have many problems. their next leader will do some challenges for the nation, to be like china or vietnam. we have to watch them not to fail, again. current leader did try once in the early 2000s, but failed. his beaurocrats didn’t welcome the seoul business ways. i think korean-chinese and hongkongese business men will do better next time. the next leader knows the hongkong customs and have some connections as well.

    Idiotic Americans ( …
Idiotic Americans (not all) you have no idea what you are talking about.

The ones who are given PROPAGANDA but don’t realise it, are YOU!

Sure, most people in DPRK cannot afford a mobile right now. But the goal is an equal society for all, and mobiles will become more and more common.

They do not put bark in the bread! It was a short period in the 90s

Their trouble is they were not prepared to go it alone at the end of the USSR. They are threatened by the US and have to spend on defense.

    Good day,

From your command of language, I guess your education level is below college, and your “wipe you out over and over” is like a kid. A desperate one, though.

If I were in your situation, I would try to find something more constructive to do, rather than having hatred feeling towards a developing country who finally has 3G mobile phones.

    Please have a nice time.

    Danny, the DPRK …
Danny, the DPRK only “takes care of” a small group of people who protect Kim Jong Il from coup d’etat. In return, he gives them food, housing, furniture, and now cell phones. 90% of this nation does not have, nor will they ever have a cell phone. In fact, the majority of North Koreans eat boiled tree bark, and we’ve even had accounts of people eating garter snakes. Danny, North Korea is a on earth, and the poorest man in the USA is far better-off than anyone who lives in the DPRK.
