In this new national TV commercial, actor Luke Wilson asks, “Who offers the best 3G experience? Let’s compare. The nation’s fastest 3g network? AT&T. The network that lets you talk and surf the Web at the same time? AT&T. The most popular smartphones? Access to more than 100,000 apps? AT&T. Name that starts with the letter “V”? (Hey, the other guys got one!) When you compare, there’s no comparison: AT&T provides a better 3G experience.”

Apple’s “Unslow” 3G iPhone commercial pretends to demonstrated the performance of the device over the 3g network. To put it to the test, I took my own 3G iPhone to the heart of AT&T’s coverage area in MA (Boylston St. in Boston just across the street from Apple’s flagship store).
The video shows a side by side performance comparison running through an identical set of actions.
The results tell the story.

New statistics-based approach for Sprint. Slickly produced and interesting enough to pay attention in a category that often produces bland, wallpaper communications. FOLLOW-UP: It’s interesting to see some of the comments, although if I didn’t know any better I’d suspect that some of the adulation for this ad might be coming from Sprint &/or their agency’s employees!
