This is a quick video to show the difference in 3G speeds between the Samsung i8910HD and the Nokia N97, both connected to AT&T’s 3g network. The i8910HD only supports the 1900 UMTS frequency in the US and is capable of handling 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 5.7Mbps HSUPA. The N97 has both 850 and 1900 UMTS frequencies, but only supports 3.6Mbps HSDPA and 1.9Mbps HSUPA.
You can try the test yourself at this link:

my handset is samsung touch pro recently bought from sydney.(4Gnetwork).dunno how to use it in India with 3g networks available
i dunno wic network it is..It uses "3prepaid" sim compatible with 4G network..my handset model is SGH-F480i Samsung touch series
it is GSM for sure!
4G? Your going to have to be more specific.. Is this Sprint’s Advertised 4g network? Or do you know if its UMTS, GSM, CDMA, or LTE?? Normally international carriers use the UMTS and GSM..

So I went and got myself the new-to-Canada (finally!) HTC Hero today.
Thing is, Telus has exclusitivity, but since they’re now GSM, they can be used on all other phone carriers!
Verizon = CDMA/EVDO 800/1900
ATT = GSM/GPRS/Edge 850/1700/1900/2100; 3G 850/1900
T-Mobile = GSM/GPRS/Edge 1900; 3G 1700/2100
Telus Bell Rogers = GSM/GPRS/Edge 850/1700/1900/2100; 3G 850/1900
(So just compare the network frequency bands between the phone carriers and you’ll understand who’s compatible with who)
Anyway, you first get the phone/SIM unlocked through various sources (I got my unlock code off eBay), and simply follow my video’s instructions to get data and internet working on Rogers 3g network.
All programs – Settings – Wireless controls – Mobile network – Mobile network settings – Access point names – Menu – New APN – Name = “xxx” APN = “internet.com” Username = “wapuser1″ Password = “wap”

Testing the 4G LTE network deployed by Telia in December of 2009. Test was conducted on the 3rd of February, 2010.
Network deployment is very small, serving only 4 pockets of coverage around Stockholm city. It works on a 10MHz wide frequency band in the 2600MHz range, delivering up to 50Mbps downlink speeds (Norway uses 20MHz wide frequency, delivering up to 100Mbps).
Samsung modem model is GT-B3710. It requires 5V input and requires 550mA of current.
Modem contains a SIM card holder along with 2 inputs for an external antenna (under plastic bottom for the SIM card holder).
