This video demonstrates how one can re-establish connection with the edge network on the iPhone 3G.
Step 1: Delete stored APN.
Step 2: Turn off Data Roaming
Step 3: Press the Delete Statistics button in the Usage section in General Settings.
Step 4: Shutdown iPhone and Restart.
Step 5: Re-input information and edge network connection is resumed.

Get MMS on iPhone 3G for Tmobile on 3.0 OS FW
This works on T-Mobile’s Network only
Add these to MMS Settings in: Settings-General-Network-Cellular Data Network
Add this in MMS field:
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username: leave blank
Password: leave blank
MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
MMS Max Message Size: leave blank
MMS UA Prof URL: leave blank
Then reboot your iPhone.
Then the picture icon will show up in the Messages App.
This allows you to send pictures, video and audio messages for the same price as a text.
There is no additional charge for MMS on T-Mobile’s Network. Same price as sending a text.

Unlock an AT&T iPhone 3G using an Unlock SIM card. It can now be used with T-Mobile. Also, set the APN to epc.tmobile.com will allow you access to the T-Mobile Web WAP service. That’s $5.99 per month for unlimited internet.
You have to disable 3g network and turn on roaming.

my current network is tmobile and i don’t want to make the switch to att because of the service rates… so, i was wondering if an iphone 3g will work with tmobile’s 3g network… i live in dallas and there IS 3g from tmobile
No. Tmobile uses 2 frequencies that the iPhone does not support, 1700mhz and 2100mhz. The iPhone only supports 850,900, 1800, and 1900mhz.

I have a tmobile E1630 donlge and where i live i only get 2g/grps, is there anyway i can connect to 3’s 3g network with my tmobile sim card still in? thanks
No they are different networks. You want to connect to the 3 Network then you will have to get one of their dongles.

I have a sony ericsson k800i phone thats working with tmobile. Tmobile is not 3g and i would like to use the 3g features on my phone so i want to switch wireless networks. Cingular just came out with 3g and i was wondering if my phone would work with them or Verizon Wireless or Sprint. Also my phone has a Video Call technology and i wanted to know what wireless provider will be coming out with this techonology because my phone will suport it.

T-Mobile in the UK IS a 3g network, as most of the phones that they support (ie, SE K800i, Nokia N70/N73, SE W850i) work on there without a problem. I’m presuming that the States are just coming around to the 3G side of things, so whether or not that’s been updated, I couldn’t clarify for you.
So long as the K800i has the correct settings for the Cingular network, and is also unlocked to all networks (enabling you to have your Cingular chip in there) then you shouldn’t have a problem in the slightest.

I am planning to buy an iPhone for my birthday and i am wondering what the iPhone 3g network is. Also if anyone has some spare time could you please find a iPhone 3G 8GB on ebay? Thanks and it needs to be around $100. Thanks a bunch.
