Verizon is the only company with good reception in my area, but also happen to get 3G on my blackberry pearl. I just thought i would hook it up and test the connection, It was actually pretty good, you can watch you tube videos in standard quality (barely)
The download speed were not really that bad: 512 Kbps (which is low-end DSL, or something you might expect at a busy airport)
But the upload speeds on the other hand were flat out horrible: a mire 100 Kbps (which would take you about 10 minutes to upload a image taken from a normal digital camera)
The verdict: This is definitely not something your going to want for stream video up to u stream, or uploading anything at all. but surfing the net wasn’t all that bad.

http://live.pirillo.com – I don’t think I’ll be standing in line for the release of the iPhone 3G, although I will be getting one. I do access the Internet frequently from my first gen iPhone, and here in Seattle we have the 3g network. It will be worth it for me to have one. But overall, for the majority of people, is it worth shelling out money to upgrade?
