i was just wondering if the iphone can connect to these things through my carriers network?
It should be able to via a GPRS or EDGE connection. Those are both 2G data connections. Just make sure you have some sort of data plan to cover it.
How do I tell which network I am on? 3g or 2g? Also, I’ve noticed my connection is the minimum it needs at the time. So, online games lag. How do I fix this?

Verizon is the only company with good reception in my area, but also happen to get 3G on my blackberry pearl. I just thought i would hook it up and test the connection, It was actually pretty good, you can watch you tube videos in standard quality (barely)
The download speed were not really that bad: 512 Kbps (which is low-end DSL, or something you might expect at a busy airport)
But the upload speeds on the other hand were flat out horrible: a mire 100 Kbps (which would take you about 10 minutes to upload a image taken from a normal digital camera)
The verdict: This is definitely not something your going to want for stream video up to u stream, or uploading anything at all. but surfing the net wasn’t all that bad.

I am planning on getting an iPhone, but Im not sure on which one to get. Should I get the iPhone 2G (the original one) or the iPhone 3G ? Please don’t compare it by networking. I would like to see your opinion. Thanks !
I’m currently using the original iPhone, and I don’t have any big complaints. It works great! The 3g network would be nice, but on WiFi it’s really fast, and if I’m using the EDGE network, it’s slower but just the convenience of being able to get online anywhere makes up for it to me.
One specific thing that the 3G has that I wish my iPhone had is a normal headphone jack. The original iPhone has a recessed headphone jack, meaning basically you either use the headphones that come with it, or you have to buy an adapter so that other headphones will plug in correctly. The new iPhone has a normal headphone jack. That would be nice! 
If I were you, though, I’d go ahead and get the 3G. Especially if you’re going through AT&T and want to get a plan and everything. They’ve got the 3Gs in store already, plus they have built in GPS and come in the larger 16GB version.
If you’re looking to buy one on eBay (or some other method, but not through AT&T) then it depends on how much you want to spend. Both are high, especially without a contract, but you might have better luck finding the original at a lower price than the newer 3G.
That being said, I’ll upgrade to the 3G when I can but I love my original iPhone. I think you’ll be happy either way you go.

I called the company before (Belkin) and they showed me where to find it, on the router.I forgot the password though. I also wrote it down, but i lost that too. haha. It’s on the back somewhere. but which one is it? I need the password for my ipod touch 2g. I accidentally reset the wifi. Where exactly is it? and what does it start with?
Well its usually a pre-set password like ‘Admin’ or ‘administraton’ or something of the sorts, just google ‘belkin router passwords’
Usually routours have a reset button, you can use that.
During our Sprint 4G launch week in N.C., I enjoyed meeting iPhone owners, like Brett, who were looking for a better network. Because the iPhone is a WiFi-enabled device, to turn it into a 4G iPhone, all I needed to do was give Brett access to my Sprint 4G personal hotspot.

So .. I have a Iphone.. 3g.. Hacked and modded of course .. And after the network outage.. First I had issues accessing the internet.. Then Out went receiving messages.. I began to receive messages saying..
the media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction.
So I called and called and nothing.. Tmobile Techs at first couldnt find a fix.. But at last.. A fix for it has been found.. All you need is 1 minute.. 2 iphone resets and cydia..

Ya,lot of differences in between them.
So far, we are using only 2G (second generation) network either in GSM or CDMA. In this 2G, we are making calls, doing sms service and GPRS/EDGE internet services.
Where as in 3G (Third generation), its so advanced technology service. Add to the above, we can do mobile broadband in cellphone without cables, we can do video calls, we can see online movies & even we can get connection of Satellite channels.
In India, 3G service is getting started in major cities. For utilizing of this 3G, we need to purchase 3G enabled phones like smart phones.
In nokia, lot of phones are there like 6233 model.
