Intel Corp’s WiMAX Program Office team demonstrated a live Vidyo Conference over the Clear WiMAX network in Hillsboro, Oregon and compared it side by side with the same Vidyo Conference over the live 3g network. We broadcasted from the outdoor white shed location within the grounds of the McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse. Tim Sweeney (WiMAX TME Manager) delivered the message which was uplinked into the 3G/4g network and then arrived at Dadi Perlmutter’s (Intel Executive Vice President) Keynote at the Intel Developer Forum 2009 held at the Moscone Center, San Francisco. During our Sprint 4G launch week in N.C., I enjoyed meeting iPhone owners, like Brett, who were looking for a better network. Because the iPhone is a WiFi-enabled device, to turn it into a 4G iPhone, all I needed to do was give Brett access to my Sprint 4G personal hotspot.
Personally, I think the iPhone is an elegant, intuitive device which runs on a subpar network. For the Apple fanboys out there, this is how you can run your iPhone on a super fast, reliable network.
